The WA government has launched a new public dashboard designed to support and drive early-stage innovation.
It’s the first time the entire innovation ecosystem has been mapped for public view in Western Australia, Innovation and ICT Minister Stephen Dawson says.
Dealroom WA displays information on startups, innovators, high-growth companies, scale-ups, corporates, funding rounds, and investments from across the state.
It also provides information on accelerator programs, co-working spaces, universities, grants and assistance.
Mr Dawson announced the platform at and event for local startups in Perth, saying it would provide the sector with an insightful tool for making better informed decisions.
“Through the platform, we can showcase the scale and expertise present across the State’s innovation sector, which supports our local startups to engage investors, service providers and policy makers,” he said.
“With … initiatives like Dealroom WA, we can help drive the diversification of our economy, and create the jobs of the future for Western Australians.”
The Dealroom platform was founded in Amsterdam in 2013 and services a global network of governments, tech ecosystems and jurisdictions.
The platform tracks information from more than 500,000 startups globally, and last year collected data on US$700 billion worth of funding deals.
Subscription to the Dealroom platform has being funded via the state government’s $16.7 million New Industries Fund.
