LGNSW chief Scott Phillips is joining Northern Beaches Council as its new CEO.
Mr Phillips, a 30-year local government veteran and former chief executive at Sutherland sand Hornsby Shire councils, was appointed to lead LGNSW in 2020.
He has also held several executive roles at state and local levels in the planning profession and serves on several industry boards, ministerial advisory committees, and panels.
Mayor Sue Heins said Mr Phillips came with unparelleled experience in local government.
“With his insight and understanding, Mr Phillips will support our Council in navigating the complex challenges and opportunities ahead,” she said in a statement.
Mr Phillips said he was looking forward to his new job and his priorities were to deliver best value service to the community, exceptional customer experience and a sustainable organisation.
“I look forward to working with the staff and continuing to grow the organisation’s strong culture, good governance and solid financial stewardship,” he said in a statement.
LGNSW President Darriea Turley said recruitment for a new CEO is underway.
She said while it was sad to see Mr Phillips leave the organisation, she was delighted he will remain in local government.
Mr Phillips joins Northern Beaches Council from July 24 under a five year contract.
