Election website explores local voting intentions

The Local Government Association of Queensland has given its support to a new website, www.qlddecides.com, designed to expose community opinion and record voter mood in the lead-up to next month’s (March 2008) council elections.

Qlddecides.com allows seat-by-seat coverage of the local government elections and provides community members with the opportunity to post their thoughts in the form of writing, video, audio and photos.

Site users will be able to comment on stories and the site’s social networking function will allow them to interact.

Set up by members of Queensland University of Technology’s Creative Inductruies faculty and funded by an Australian Research Council grant, the website is also supported by Online Opinion, the Brisbane Institute and Cisco.
