Outdoor advertising company oOh!Media has signed a multi-year contract with City of Adelaide which will see more digital communications screens installed through the CBD.
As part of the street furniture and advertising deal oOh! will manage cleaning, maintenance and advertising services for 108 bus shelters and 20 digital screens across Adelaide.
The company says it will also invest in digitising the precinct, converting existing assets, and adding communication screens in new greenfield locations.
A City of Adelaide spokesperson told Government News up to 40 additional digital screens could be installed on bus shelters and communication panels.
“Council will be able to display messaging related to Council business and initiatives, important community information or details about events and other matters in the city and North Adelaide,” the spokesperson said.
oOh! says the new panels will give council the ability to communicate messages such as weather and community alerts, as well as providing a forum for lifestyle and charity content and giving advertisers access to a wider audience.
“For almost three decades we have worked in partnership with the City of Adelaide to ensure critical street furniture infrastructure is cleaned and maintained (and we) welcome the opportunity to continue this productive relationship for many years to come,” CEO Cathy O’Connor said in a statement.
“As part of this extended agreement oOh! will invest in expanding the digital network and launch innovative digital communications screens to provide a comprehensive content offering that delivers real utility across the city.”
oOh! currently manages cleaning, maintenance and advertising services for 17 councils in South Australia.
