ICT services provider Datacom has finished the implementation of its $242 million contract for the Department of Health.
The contract, awarded in March, is for ICT infrastructure and support services for the Department. New Zealand owned Datacom replaced IBM, which had previously help the contract for 16 years. That contract ended on 30 June, with Datacom announcing that it has now completed the changeover.
Datacom says the five year contract is a “ground-breaking departure from traditional IT services outsourcing, as it is the first of its kind to be constructed solely around an outcomes-based, fully managed consumption-based pricing model that provides Datacom with the autonomy to deliver a solution set which best fits the Department’s needs.”
Datacom has a dedicated team predominately located on site with the Department of Health in Canberra, with service desk operations provided out of Datacom‘s Brisbane offices.
Datacom ‘s portfolio of major Canberra clients now includes CrimTrac, the Department of the Environment, the Australian Taxation Office, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, the National Health and Medical Research Council and Airservices Australia.
