New boss at NSW infrastructure advisory body

Tom Gellibrand will take over as the new of head Infrastructure NSW.

Mr Gellibrand has been Head of Projects at the infrastructure advisory body for the last four years and has held senior roles with Sydney Metro and North West Rail Link.

He was also previously deputy director general at the NSW Department of Planning.

Announcing the appointment on Monday, NSW Treasurer Daniel Mookhey said Mr Gellibrand has facilitated private and public sector coordination to deliver major infrastructure projects, develop land and provide urban services.

“Mr Gelibrand brings significant experience in leading organisation across planning, transport, built infrastructure and professional services,” Mr Mookhey said in a statement.

A Infrastructure NSW’s new chief executive Mr Gellibrand will be tasked with oversight and assurance of the state’s infrastructure pipeline and precinct delivery.

He said he looked forward to what will be an exciting time for the organisation.

“It’s a privilege to lead the organisation and support the government in addressing the challenging fiscal environment, transforming our electricity system and building more diverse and affordable places for people to live,” he said.

Mr Gellibrand replaces Janine Lonergan who has been acting in the position since February, following the departure of Simon Drape, who has taken on the role of CEO at the NSW Reconstruction Authority.
