Hobart CEO returns to Victoria to lead MAV

City of Hobart CEO Kelly Grigsby is returning to Victoria as the next CEO of the Municipal Association of Victoria.

Ms Grigsby, who was also Wyndham City Council CEO and a senior executive at City of Brimbank, will serve a five year term with MAV starting July 24.

President David Clark said Ms Grigsby was well recognised in the local government sector as an innovative, result-focused and visionary organisational leader.

“I am thrilled to welcome Kelly to the role of CEO at the MAV and am confident that her leadership will help the MAV continue to deliver exceptional outcomes to the local government sector and their respective communities,” he said in a statment on Thursday.

Ms Grigsby has experience in  city shaping, organisational transformation, service reform and intergovernmental influenece at state, national and international levels.

In her LinkedIn page she says she is a proponent of the philosophy that cities are the most powerful economic engines in the world, and has a deep passion for urban design, place making, innovation, inclusion and social justice.

She is also a Senior Honorary Fellow at the Melbourne School of Government and is a member of the Committee for Economic Development of Australia (CEDA) State Advisory Council

Ms Grigsby takes over from Kerry Thompson, who is finishing her current term.
